Tuesday

I Have Seen The Light!

This dark primitive cupboard was found in our basement when we bought our house. The primitive style fit perfectly at the time but It's time for a change. I've fallen in love with all things white. It's hard to go from very primitive to very white but I think I like it! It looks a whole lot cleaner which is the look I'm going for now.
Looking at this picture........I think I need to paint the light fixture and maybe the skirt & legs of the table.
A close up of the resin birds that I found at the Dollar Tree a few months ago. They were brown. I painted them also while I had the brush out! Ahh.............much better!
This is a bench that I bought a while back. I painted & distressed the wood and recovered the top with burlap & then stenciled it. It's almost ready to go to the shop.
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! We're getting ready for another round of snow!

  1. Linda, your cabinet looks great painted white and I love it against the exposed brick. Thanks for visiting my mirror project and your kind comments. I purchased the rose appliques en ebay. The dealer is Do It Yourself Chic. I have bought from her in the past and everything I have received has been wonderful. Please tell her I sent you.

  7. AMAZING cupboard! What a find, and how cool it was in your home already. I normally like things really chippy as well, but when I saw it in white... wow! You made the right move.

  17. I love the chippy paint look but I completely get the clean painted white too. Funny thing is, I love the chippy paint but have nothing in my house that way. I'd only put in out in the garden. You did a great job--also for thinking of painting the birds too!
